Asbestosis

Nationwide Advocates Offering Justice and Care to Asbestos Victims

What is Asbestosis?

Asbestosis is a serious lung disease that is not cancer. It happens when tiny asbestos fibers are breathed in, causing lung tissue to scar. This scarring makes it harder to breathe.

Asbestosis Symptoms Include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • A crackling sound in the lungs when breathing in
  • Changes in the fingers and toes, called "clubbing"

Asbestosis Risks:

In severe cases, asbestosis can lead to heart problems and may even be fatal. Unfortunately, there is no cure for asbestosis, and the condition is often very disabling. Many victims suffering from asbestosis rely on 24-hour oxygen to live with chronic shortness of breath.
